About Ms. Crystal

Hi!  I'm Crystal Fox, the library media specialist at Benton Elementary!  This is my 10th year here and I love this school and these kids like family.  After all, I have most kids from Kindergarten until they graduate the 5th grade.  Over six years, I get a little attached.

The picture above shows me and my fur-kids.  :-)  The white one on the left is Bella and the big guy on the right is Keimosabi, or just Keimo for short.  Both are former 'pound puppies' that I adopted.

Keimo was adopted as an itty bitty puppy and I've had him for about 9 years.  He's really smart and well behaved.  Lots of kids from school know him already because I usually bring him to school at least once a year.  I think he loves coming to visit as much as the kids love him!  He always does tricks for them (as long as I have treats) and he usually picks out a kid that he likes, lays down by them and listens to them read.

Bella, well let's just say she's special.  ;-) She's only lived with me for about 2 years and she's about 3 or 4 years old.  We really don't know for sure how old she is because she was grown when I adopted her.  She is the total opposite of Keimo.  He likes to just lay at my feet.  Bella likes to get in my lap.  She's my little love bug!  I haven't ever brought her to school because she likes to jump up on people and give them hugs and big juicy kisses right on the face!  I'm pretty sure some people won't appreciate that as much as I do.  (In fact, sometimes even I get kind of tired of it! lol)

Back to me...
Not only am I a librarian, I'm an artist...  or at least I like to think I'm an artist!  I draw and paint all of the time and love to draw pictures for the kids at school! You can almost always see something I've drawn or painted somewhere in the school!

Obviously, I love to read!  I've given up on having time to read things for myself though.  I spend most of my reading time with things that I want to tell the kids about!  I have tons of favorites, but most of my students know that my very favorite book is, Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems.  There's just nothing more fun than reading a book that allows the reader to pitch a fit and not get in trouble for it!  (If you haven't ever read it and you have a little one in your house, believe me, you NEED this book!)

Hmmm.... I guess that's about it.  I'm sure there's probably more, but you probably don't want to hear about it!
